Chairman’s CV

Following several years working in a Family food and beverage business in Ireland, emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1960 and joined a stockbroking company as a trainee.

He became an individual member of the London Stock Exchange in 1977 and formed a new stockbroking company in partnership with four colleagues. The Company, where he became Chairman and Managing Director, specialised in corporate finance for mining and oil and gas companies.

In 1991 he set up and personally financed a private resources exploration and development company which explored a diverse range of Countries, namely, Canada, Chile, Guinea Republic, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mexico, Senegal and the USA. This led to discoveries of oil & gas in California which are currently being developed and gold/copper deposits in Canada and West Africa which were vended into listed companies in exchange for shares. As a result, he continues, as a passive investor, to have an economic interest in some of these companies.

Until the end of 2017 he acted as corporate adviser to several companies and was also an asset manager.

In November 2017, he started negotiations for the purchase of Natasa Mining Limited’s 41.4% interest in UMC Energy Limited which were successfully completed by end of May 2018. As Chairman, he is overseeing the rehabilitation of the UMC’s exploration licenses, the acquisition of a new licenses, the strengthening of the balance sheet and the relationship with the company’s joint venture partner.
